GUSTAV update
Left
1:30 am Friday, encountered NO traffic, and NO gas-station
troubles, and went straight 15 hours to Des Moines,
IA, arriving about 6:30 pm Saturday.
Parents
(who live in Houma) left this Saturday, heading North
as well.
Pals
of mine that left Saturday at 11am took about 14 hours
for the usual 6-hour ride to Auburn, AL, spending
nearly 6 hours to make the usual '1st hour' worth
of driving which put them at Biloxi, MS.
Fuck,
I hope it doesn't hit my parents' house, a low Cat3
on down would be okay, but a standard Cat3+ would
be very, very bad. Technically, they're in Bayou Cane,
which is north of Houma, roughly touching Hwy 90 @
Exit 202, so anything's possible.
I
can be contacted by my myspace, or by my cell, which
is working well.

some fine Kodak HIE black-and-white infrared film,

Just
an update to let every know I'm still alive, but haven't
had anything to contribute to the site due to lack
of subject matter for what I'm looking to accomplish.
No worry, I've a few cards up my sleeve, planning
a few road trips, and networking with some new models.
Sorry
no update as of yet, been busy beyond belief, and
finally got my laptop back! For the record, if you
ever have a laptop repaired through a 3rd party repair
shop, do NOT approve it being sent to 'Data
Support Systems.' They 'worked' on it twice
this year, almost a month each session, and it died
within 24 hours of recieving it, replacing the same
parts over and over (apparently not testing anything.)
Sager, the manufacturer of my laptop, did the
final repair, and is in 110% condition. As a result,
I still stand behind Sager
laptops, and the fine folks at www.powernotebooks.com
for handling the situation with equal diligence and
concern as I myself had. There'll be some updates
shortly. :)

Sorry
for the late update, my little Sager laptop was out
being repaired, but unsucessfully, so it's back to
the repair shop. I stand by Sager, and its products,
but BEWARE of Philips Magnavox repair Depots... check
your computer's extended warranty, if it goes to them,
be sure to be on top of things, they're a little tricky.
